چکیده

Nonmagnetostrictive CoFeSiB alloy wires were subjected to cold drawing processing followed by annealing under tension, in order to induce the formation of circular magnetic anisotropy. The axial (M Z – HZ) and circular (M f – Hf) hysteresis loops indicate the existence of induced transverse anisotropy, with the magnitude of the anisotropy field being dependent on the processing conditions, while circular loops are quasibistable for samples processed under stress. Very peculiar hysteresis loops are obtained for the Matteucci ~MI, M f – HZ! and inverse Wiedemann ~IWE, M Z – Hf! effects corresponding to those samples exhibiting the mentioned circular bistability. The circular shape of the MI loop is interpreted as produced by reversible magnetization rotation within circumferential domain. The effective hysteresis arises from the existence of a helical distribution of anisotropy in the transition region between the inner axial domain and the external shell. IWE loop confirms the presence of this helicity. © 1999 American Institute of Physics. @S0021-8979~99!54408-3#

A soft magnetic wire for sensor applications

The main magnetic characteristics regarding the domain structure and magnetization processes (axial, circular and Matteucci and inverse Wiedemann effects) of amorphous wires and glass-coated microwires are analysed. Magnetic bistability, spontaneously observed in samples with large enough ratio magneto-elastic anisotropy with axial easy axis to shape anisotropy, is the main source for a number ...

Novel surface anisotropy term in the FMR spectra of amorphous microwires

Some recent publications on ferromagnetic resonance in amorphous wires mention presumably new kind of anisotropy, called there circumferential anisotropy , as an explanation of various observed spectral features. In this paper we argue that there is no special reason to speak of the new kind of anisotropy, since the observed spectra can be well described in terms of more traditional uniaxial an...

Coupled Thermoelasticity Impact Response Analysis of Composite Plates with SMA Wires in Thermal Environments

Impact responses of rectangular composite plates with embedded shape memory alloy (SMA) wires are investigated in the present research. The plate is assumed to be placed in a thermal environment; so that in contrast to the available researches in the field, the shape memory and ferroelasticity effects have to be considered also in addition to the superelasticity. The governing equations are der...

Low-Loss Amorphous Silicon-On-Insulator Technology for Photonic Integrated Circuitry

We report the fabrication of low-loss amorphous silicon photonic wires deposited by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition. Single mode photonic wires were fabricated by 193nm optical lithography and dry etching. Propagation loss measurements show a loss of 3.46dB/cm for photonic wires (480×220nm) and 1.34dB/cm for ridge waveguides.

Circumferential wires as a supplement to intramedullary nailing in unstable trochanteric hip fractures

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Fixation of unstable trochanteric fractures is challenging. Application of a circumferential wire may facilitate bone contact and avoid postoperative fracture displacement. However, the use of circumferential wires remains controversial due to possible disturbance of the blood supply to the underlying bone. We evaluated the results of applied circumferential wires, concen...
